Presenter Profile
How they describe themselves: Buxfer is an online, shared application for managing money, focused on helping people in their 20's make better financial decisions. Our current motto is simple: help them spend less than they earn! Our ultimate goal is to be the one place on the Internet which 20-somethings look to for managing all of their finances.
What they think makes them better: Existing financial products are mostly irrelevant for today's young generation. They are difficult to use, and don't focus on their specific needs. Youngsters care a lot for shared expenses (debts from sharing rent, ski trips) and like services to be accessible and connected to their lives. Existing financial services are monolithic, centralized and completely disconnected from a young man's life.
Buxfer makes personal finance relevant to young people:
- It’s simple to setup and use. It automatically downloads and categorizes transactions from banks and credit cards.
- It’s focused on specific needs of young people, allowing them to track and settle debts with friends.
- It’s accessible and connected to their lives via many services that 20-somethings use in their day-to-day life (e.g., iPhone, Blackberry, Facebook, iGoogle and Netvibes).
